The 2 Week Diet

Diabetic Foods to Avoid to Lower Blood Sugar Levels!

 blood

I. Diabetic Foods to Avoid to Lower Blood Sugar Levels:

Diabetes is a disease that occurs when a person’s body doesn’t make enough of the hormone insulin or can’t use insulin properly. Diabetes is a condition where the amount of glucose in your blood is too high because the body cannot use it properly. blood

This is because your pancreas doesn’t produce any insulin, or not enough insulin, to help glucose enter your body’s cells, or the insulin that is produced does not work properly (known as insulin resistance).

II. What is Diabetes Diet?

A diabetes diet is medically known as Medical Nutrition Therapy. It is rich in nutrients, low in fat and calories and high in vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. In such a diet, individuals are encouraged to eat moderate amounts of food and stick to regular mealtimes.

The importance of eating dietary fiber is emphasized in such diets and it is even said that carbohydrates eaten with dietary fiber results in a lower glycemic status (level of sugar in the blood) than the same amount of carbohydrates otherwise consumed alone. If You’re Suffering From Diabetes it is Good to Avoid These Foods.

III. Foods To Avoid:

1. White Flour:

Wheat is the most common cereal used throughout the world for making bread It is a good source of energy. With its essential coating of bran, vitamins, and minerals, it is an excellent health-building food.

Wheat is usually ground into flour for use as food. However refined wheat flour constitutes a serious health hazard of the various processed foods being used today for their delicious taste, white flour (maida) is especially harmful.

The,

colossal loss of vitamins and mineral in refined wheat flour has led to a widespread prevalence of constipation and other related disgusting disturbance and nutritional disorders, particularly diabetes. The consumption of white flour is thus an important contributory cause of diabetes, and its aggravation, if the disease has already developed.

2. White Salt:

Common salt or sodium chloride is a major factor in maintaining the acid-base equilibrium of the body.  It is also essential for the production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Thus, while a certain amount of salt essential for the body system, it is required in very small quantities, ranging from 10 to 15 g per day.

Excessive

  • use of salt puts an extra burden on the kidneys, may cause high blood pressure, which is closely linked with diabetes.
  • Excessive intake of salt promotes water retention in the body, which in due course may lead to obesity, which is a potent cause of diabetes.
  • Too much salt is thus harmful and may promote or hasten the onset of diabetes.
  • Salt (sodium chloride) and sodium preservatives are added to most processed foods.
  • A sodium-controlled diet must avoid or limit salted snacks; pickles and many others processed convenience foods.

Related Topics:

3. Tea and Coffee:

Drinking tea and coffee is

a serious health hazard for the diabetic. The most alkaloid principle in both tea and coffee is caffeine.

  • Caffeine is an addictive drug similar to cocaine in as much as it stimulates the central nervous system.
  • While these effects are short-lived, it has been observed that they lead to withdrawal symptoms of irritability, lethargy, headaches, and anxiety.
  • The daily intake of tea and coffee causes indigestion and gas formation, diarrhea, and constipation.
  • They also increase the blood sugar level, which may lead to diabetes or aggravate its symptoms where the disease is already present.

4. Butter And Cheese:

Food items which are high in fat content should be totally avoided. Fat is the first enemy that keeps you in diabetic condition. As such, consuming fat in any form like cheese varieties, butter and margarine should be kept off.

5. Foods With Cholesterol Components:

Most of the animal foods contain cholesterol which can spoil your health with increased blood pressure as equal to blood sugar. You are safe if you avoid foods like dairy products, egg yokes, poultry and high fat red meat. blood blood blood

6. Sugary Items:

Food items which are rich in sugar components such as cake, chocolates, cookies, fruit jam, sugarcane juice, pastries, and syrup should be avoided. Jellies of any variety are also harmful and they are all bad foods for diabetics.

7. Salads & Fried Foods: blood

Salad dressings like mustard, avocado, and mayonnaise contain high sodium. As sodium is not good for diabetes, salads should be avoided. Similarly, since fried foods with oil fat can be more harmful, boiled foods should be preferred as good foods for diabetics.

8. Ice Cream:

A. Ice creams labeled as no added sugar have been sweetened with alcohol sugars: It is true that alcohol sugar does not give blood sugar level spikes like regular sugars but the number of calories is the same.

B. A half cup of no sugar added ice cream contains around 100 calories: This calorie count is 50 percent more than the calorie count of one piece of bread. Similarly, a big bowl of ice cream that has 2 large scoops carries around 400 calories.

C. This calorie count is around 20% of the total calorie requirement of the whole day: Another problem with alcohol sugars is that they may cause loose bowels or diarrhea. similarly, diabetics must also stay away from candies labeled “no sugar added”.

Warnings: blood

Besides eliminating certain items from your diet, you need to also control the quantity that you consume. Being overweight as a result of overeating will negate all the good work that has been done by sticking to a diabetic diet plan.

Overeating will cause your blood sugar levels to rise and worsen your diabetic condition. You could develop insulin resistance and you can even become obese. Other consequences include the risk of strokes, heart attacks and developing metabolic diseases.

Conclusion:

Diabetes is not the fatal disease that it once was. By carefully taking appropriate medications and by monitoring your symptoms, you can act to avoid diabetes complications and live a normal life.
