 How To Prepare For a Detox Program?  

Body detoxification is a normal process.

It is simply one of our body’s most basic functions, eliminating wastes and toxins through our colons, kidneys, liver, lungs, and skin.

Every day, our bodies need to eliminate wastes and toxins from our system or we die. Today, however, we are bombarded with toxins from all over that our bodies are overloaded with unwanted substances and some stay in our tissues

Normally, we produce natural metabolic wastes from normal body processes. It is compounded with other external toxic substances that come to us from all over, from the air, water, and the food we all ingest.

Tips to Start:

Set your Goals. Have a vision of what you want to accomplish and you will have a wonderful detox experience.

  • Practice fasting one day a week for one month before your detox program.
  • Pay attention to how you handle the one day fast.
  • Eat well and correctly before the one day fast.
  • Eat well and correctly after you break the fast.
  • Drink lemon juice in water first thing in the morning.
  • Drink herb tea before you go to bed.
  • Drink plenty of water during the day.
  • Or drink plenty of tea, preferably herbal tea during the day. 




How to Succeed with Your Detox Program:

1. PLAN:

  • Prepare both mentally and practically the week before your detox program.
  • Then you will have a better chance to get the best results from your detox.

2. MENTAL PREPARATIONS:

  • When you successfully complete a detox program, you have a great achievement.
  • You can make the process easier by preparing to detox before delving into your detox program.
  • This preparation leads to an easier cleansing process with the best possible results.

3. Observe your body:

  • If you start observing your body before you begin your detox, you will be able to notice changes during the detox.
  • When you start the detox, your body will change as you move through the detox program.
  • If you are making major changes in your eating habits, this may trigger reactions you can feel.
  • The best thing for you is to observe your body.

4. Keep a Journal:

  • Take the time to write down what you experience, what you go through and how you are doing every day during the week of preparation and during the entire detox program.
  • If you do this, you will have a record of your changes and your progress.
  • This daily reminder can help you get past the very real challenge of staying on course with your detox.




5. PRACTICAL PREPARATIONS:

  • Get rid of any foods in your fridge or cupboards that will not be eaten during your detox.
  • This includes snack foods and EVERYTHING that might tempt you to go off the detox.
  • Stop eating foods with sugar, artificial sweeteners, processed foods and alcoholic drinks the week before the detox.
  • These foods may have withdrawal effects, so observe your body and watch your response getting off these types of foods.
  • Start bean sprouts if you are going to use these during your detox program.
  • Cut down, then cut out alcohol, coffee and black tea before your detox program.
  • You can drink filtered water, fruit juice or herbal teas and green tea instead.
  • Caffeine withdrawal is a big problem during a detox. Quitting caffeine cold turkey can cause you great discomfort. You might feel fatigue, be constipated and irritable.
  • Prevent these problems by gradually reducing your intake of coffee, soda and black tea the week before beginning the detox program until you are not drinking any of these caffeinated drinks.

6. Drink Plenty of Water:

  • When you go on a detox you limit and change what you eat so you may become dehydrated.
  • Do not wait until you are thirsty to drink a glass of water. Try to drink a glass of water every hour you are awake.
  • Drinking water helps you feel full so it can help you deal with any hunger or cravings you might feel.
  • Simplify food choices before your detox
  • Limit the number of ingredients you use in a meal.
  • Limit the amount of food you make for a meal.
  • Limit the amount you eat during the meal and between meals.
  • If you feel good about having done these preparations, you are now ready to do a detox program.
